FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Stuff Nobody Explains (Until It’s Too Late)

What's the difference between mulching and proper land clearing?

Mulching simply grinds vegetation in place, leaving roots and debris in the ground. Proper land clearing removes trees, stumps and debris completely, giving you truly usable land. Mulched land often requires additional clearing later when you discover it’s not actually build-ready.

How do I know if my property needs grading?
Signs you need grading include standing water after rain, water flowing toward your foundation, an uneven yard that’s difficult to maintain, or preparing for new construction. We’re happy to assess your property and recommend solutions.
Do you handle permits for demolition?
Yes, we can handle the permitting process for most demolition projects. We’re familiar with local requirements and can ensure all the proper paperwork is in place before work begins.
What should I know before scheduling utility trenching?
Before trenching, you’ll need to know where existing utilities are located. We can help coordinate with utility marking services and develop a plan that safely works around existing infrastructure.
How long does it typically take to clear an acre of land?
For an average acre with moderate tree coverage, our team typically completes clearing in 3-4 days. This includes tree removal, stump extraction, and debris hauling. Heavily wooded areas or difficult terrain may take longer.
Can you clear land while preserving specific trees?
Absolutely! We regularly work with customers who want to keep certain trees for shade or aesthetics. We can carefully work around trees you want to preserve while clearing the rest of your property.
What happens to the trees and debris after you clear my land?
We haul away all debris using our 60-yard trailer. If you have timber-quality trees, we can work with a logger to harvest them, potentially offsetting some of your clearing costs. Otherwise, all materials are properly disposed of or recycled when possible.
Do I need to be present during the entire clearing/grading process?
No, you don’t need to be on-site the whole time. We’ll need you present for the initial consultation and to mark any boundaries or features to preserve. After that, we’ll keep you updated with regular progress reports and photos.
What equipment will you bring to my property?
The equipment we bring depends on your specific job. For most residential clearing projects, we use excavators, skid steers, and our dump trailer. For larger jobs, we might bring in our dozer or larger excavator. We’ll discuss equipment needs during your consultation.
How far in advance should I schedule land clearing services?
During busy seasons (typically spring and summer), we recommend scheduling 4-6 weeks in advance. For winter projects, we might be able to accommodate shorter timeframes. Emergency services for storm damage are prioritized as needed.
